Pencil Illustration (6B) on Plain White Paper (5.25″ x 5.5″)
This pretty lady, Ms. Ana volunteered herself to have her picture drawn in 30 Minute Art’s Facebook page. Although it took me so long before I could actually continue this project (she volunteered on April 17), I got myself starting once again. Ugh, I might be a big procrastinator, but rarely a quitter. The culprit is: I accepted portrait jobs which of course took me weeks to accomplish. Actually I almost got carried away on this one. This took me 45 mins. to finish (shhhh) hahaha. It would have taken really a long time once my perfectionism sets in. But anyways since this is 30 minute art, I could let my perfectionism rest and just do what I can do in a shorter period of time. I don’t have the time pleasure of meticulously measuring every details to make the portrait looks exactly as it is, so I’m pretty sure there might be some errors here and there, but I guess it’s always has been exciting doing portraits within 30 minutes.
Well, I’m gonna run out of pictures to draw soon, (I only have 2 pictures on queue) so, if you want me to draw your 30 minute portrait, pls. like the 30 minute art page (you can click it on the right) and comment somewhere here or there that you want to be drawn, and I’ll draw your Facebook profile picture. 🙂
Have a great day!

This pretty lady is Michelle whom I have known as emjayzed here on WordPress. We challenged each other before to make an origami crane (The Wishing Crane). She is a fun person, do check out her site! If you want me to draw your portrait under the time pressure of 30 minutes as well, do say so on the comments below, and I’d be really glad to draw you as my next model. 😀
Have a great day!
Life is full of beauty.
Notice it. Notice the bumble bee,
the small child, and the smiling faces.
Smell the rain, and feel the wind.
Live your life to the fullest potential,
and fight for your dreams.
– Ashley Smith
The pretty girl on the portrait is April Salvador. I used her picture on the beach. I just love how the air messed with her hair . It doesn’t look exactly like that, but I guess I had fun drawing her hair. If you want me to draw your portrait, don’t hesitate to tell me in the comments below. 🙂
Anyway I hope you are having fun. Have a great day!
“A mother is the truest friend we have,
when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us;
when adversity takes the place of prosperity;
when friends desert us;
when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us,
and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness,
and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
― Washington Irving
This is a portrait of a beautiful woman who loves her son so dearly. She is Angela Nevitt the author of the blog oneincreation. I’m not sure if I have drawn the resemblance well, but I sure hope I had captured the love going on between a mother and son.
If you want me to draw you a 30 minute portrait just tell me in the comments below. 🙂
I hope you like it. Have a blessed Sunday!
Hurray! Here goes the first portrait for my 30 minute art project. But not really the first ( see Timmy ).
The girl on the drawing is my sister-in-law, Visia. Even though I am still planning to do this little project of making fast portraits for study, she already asked me to do her portrait. Aside from that, it just happened to be her birthday yesterday. (Happy Birthday Sis!)
On the process of making this portrait, I was wondering what medium to use. I am even thinking of using ink or colored pencils. But I might not finish it on time so, the fastest medium is just the simple and common graphite pencil.
And oh btw, you may find it a bit similar to Artboy68’s 100 portrait project although mine is under time pressure.. lol XD.
That artist is amazing! Do check his art out.
As for me, this is just a simple study on doing fast portraits for practice. I tend to be a little too perfectionist on my art that I consume a lot of time on every commercial portrait that I do. In doing this, I hope to be able to discover my own art style and make it a little more spontaneous and fun.
I hope you like my drawing! If you want me to draw your portrait just let me know on the comments below. 🙂
Have a great day!
The light that dances at the palm of your hands,
Waiting for you to grasp and be found. 🙂
Mr. Rabbit is at your service,
He’ll give you a cup of tea and a purple crocus.
So you better drown all your sorrows away.
Forget it all just come and play.
Empty, empty, empty…my mind is an empty slate, but things like that happens from time to time right? Too much thinking makes your mind shut down from thinking. And I think I should be thinking of something new to think of. Don’t think too much either because I don’t think I’m thinking about anything that makes sense for you to think of. lol
This is Mr. Cat…(very creative name huh? lol) I’m obviously a fan of the story “Alice in the Wonderland” so I guess this is partly inspired by that. I planned to use colored pencil for this but then I enjoyed the shading with my mechanical pencil so I just continued with it as is. Oddly though, I finished this one early, only for 25 minutes. I guess that is because pencil is way easier to use than watercolors..hehe. I hope you like it!
This is my nephew Timothy Lance Y. Castro. I made this during his dedication. I have regretted not bringing any art materials with me. But in order to accomplish my 30 minute daily task, I had to borrow all the stuffs to do this. Special thanks to Nao for the sketchpad, charcoal pencil, macbook, cell phone that captured the photo and internet connection. lol. And thanks to Aljane for the connector. To my nephew Timmy, I wish that you will grow up into a wonderful person. 🙂
